Condemning the Mumbai Siege

Whatever their reasons are, the gunmen who had launched a siege at Mumbai, India last week for 60 more hours and leave at least 174 people dead deserved to be punished severely. They were terrorists in the purest sense who murdered innocent civilians in cold blood, not in the name of religion, but of evil.

After the last one was disposed of by the authorities, the not-so intelligent Indian intelligence believed that these demented zealots belonged to the outlawed Pakistani group Lashkar-e-Taiba, which is affiliated with al Qaeda. This group was supposed to oppose Indian rule over the disputed state of Kashmir.

Pictured above is 2 year-old Moshe Holtzberg crying for his dead mother and father, both killed in Mumbai for no other reason than because they were Jewish. Moshe was inside the Jewish centre stormed by the Islamic militants during last week’s Mumbai attacks. His rabbi father and mother were both murdered. Moshe was rushed to safety - drenched in blood - after his nanny found him crying by their bodies.

Supporters of extremist groups and those belonging to Lashkar-e-Taiba may argue that their kids suffer too and that the only way to appease their spirit is to settle it with the same violence or much more. Before they do this, they should first stop and look at the picture of Moshe above. All these 'an eye for an eye' bullshit as an excuse for terrorism, maimings and murder should stop. The cycle of violence perpetrated by mindless nutcase against anybody is not worth to produce the picture above.
