Rescue to Distribution

Priority Areas
With flood waters starting to subside in areas badly hit by Tropical Storm 'Ondoy,' the military on 28 September 2009 said it is shifting its focus from rescue efforts to distribution of relief goods to the affected residents.

In an interview with news anchor Arnold Clavio in GMA’s Special Coverage of Storm Ondoy, Armed Forces public affairs chief Lt. Col. Romeo Brawner Jr. said the military would deliver the relief goods at designated distribution centers.

Relief operations are ongoing at disaster-stricken provinces like Rizal, Bulacan, Pampanga, Laguna, Batangas, and Cavite .

GMANews.TV is also continually sifting through the thousands of posts, messages and calls for help they have received since morning of Saturday (26 September 2009), and select the cases needing the most urgent action, usually a rescue and evacuation or on-site relief. They have also started to input locations of relief centers and passability of some roads. Their locations are mapped above.
