Kidnapped Boy Still Missing

Nenia and Ceekim Gomonit
Unidentified men abducted Ceekim Gomonit, 9-year old boy and his grandmother in Zamboanga del Sur on 30 October 2010. The victims were asleep when the suspects, one of whom is a woman, barged into their house and hogtied all of the occupants before fleeing.

However, up to now the relatives said they were still awaiting word from the kidnappers on the fate of Ceekim. The grandmother, Nenia, had died in captivity and her body was later exhumed in a remote area of Sultan Naga Dimaporo in Lanao del Sur.

Leonardo Candil, Nenia's brother, said the family has no updates on the whereabouts or condition of the boy.

"We are extremely worried over the fate of my grandson," he said.

Chief Supt. Felicisimo Khu, chief of the Directorate for Integrated Police Operation (Dipo) in Western Mindanao, said police earlier learned that the kidnappers were demanding PhP 30 million in ransom for the boy.

Since there was no other piece of information on the boy at this time, it is strongly recommended by this blog that the readers should try not to forget about him. The PNP tasked to resolved this case may have to be reminded that the public will continue to keep tab on this story until they recover the victim whatever his fate may be.
