Is the Insanity About Forcing Mr. Potato Head To Be Gender-Neutral Over?

Mr. Potato Head
Let us make this clear. Mr. Potato Head is a HE, not an IT or a SHE.

However, for some reason, Hasbro, the company that makes the potato-shaped plastic toy, is giving the spud a gender neutral new name: Potato Head. The change was reported to appear on boxes this year.

"Beauty And The Beast" Doll Likened To A Transgender

The movie was pumped and hyped by Disney to ensure that the live-action version of the "Beauty And The Beast" will give them another milking cow from the sale of toys and other merchandise. However, one doll is the subject of some less than flattering chatter after some onlookers are saying that she happens to like a masculine transgender.

According to a report from BuzzFeed News, a photo of the "Belle" doll, a character in the film played by Emma Watson, was posted by photographer William Herrington after he saw her at a mall. After posting the image (above) to his Flickr account, the chatter around the doll began to spread across social media.

Venezuelan Authorities
Poor Venezuelan kids will have something to look up to this coming Christmas after the Venezuela's socialist government has seized nearly 4 million toys from a private company and says it intends to hand them out as gifts to the unfortunate children this holiday season.

The country's fair pricing authority seized the toys from three warehouses run by Kreisel, Venezuela's largest toy distributor last 9 December. Two company executives were detained on suspicion of promoting price speculation.

Another Oversize Barbie Doll That Nobody Will Buy

Fat Barbie
After several decades of playing with the thin and long-legged Barbie, a new doll is being launched and as everyone guessed, it is fat.

The oversize Ashley Graham, who continues to promote messages of accepting unhealthy lifestyle and eating fat-riddled meals, unveiled a one-of-a-kind doll in her likeness at Glamour's Women of the Year summit in Los Angeles last 14 November.

Department store Target was left a little red-faced after a customer pointed out the questionable appearance of a set of "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" toys found in the shelves.

The toys are based on Kylo Ren, Captain Phasma and a Stormtrooper, and are for children to play with while swimming.

"Goodbye Bading" Firecracker Banned

Goodbye Bading
A few days ago or just before the New Year celebration in the Philippines. Some quick-thinking firecracker makers have released a new product for Filipinos who are against gays and their lifestyles.

A new firecracker called "Goodbye Bading" or "Goodbye Gays" has popped up in stores in the Philippines. Because it packs the explosive power of a hand grenade, authorities promptly outlawed it.

Toys Exclusive For Boys from SDCC 2015

Toys Exclusive for Boys
During the San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) last July, toy companies released several exclusive items male fans can get their hands on at the show.

Thousands of boys and men lined the halls of San Diego’s convention center to try their luck at scoring their favorite toys exclusively made for them. From choking hazard Ant-Mans to talking George RR Martins (we hope he just recites the names of the characters who die in the books), to a plethora of Funko Pop! figures, there’s something for every male species in the planet.

Dubai Sent Lego To Bring Joy To Filipino Students

Kharazmi
Do you know that there is a small city on the outskirts of Manila where ore than 80 schoolchildren get to build toy houses, cities and farms, all with Lego bricks donated by hundreds of Dubai residents? Yes, Dubai.

In started last May 2015 after the Napilas Integrated School in the Philippines, which largely depends on donations, received a massive box from Dubai resident Kristina Kunz Kharazmi. It didn't contain the books, clothes or stationery supplies that the community school in Silay City usually receives from donors around the world. Instead, it was packed full of Lego and Duplo bricks.

Barbie Is Getting Some Heel Upgrades

Barbie Doll
Soon, everyone will see some major changes in Barbie dolls. One change that will be implemented soon involved those painfully high heels.

After more than fifty years or so of having her feet perpetually frozen at a near-vertical angle, ready to slip into any high heel at any moment, Barbie is finally getting the chance to let loose with flats, according to The News & Observer. More importantly, though, she is finally getting ankles.

Girl Scout Barbie in Stores Near You

Girl Scout Barbie
Remember the post we have before about famous toy doll, Barbie, wearing a Girl Scout uniform? Well, the toys have finally arrived in several stalls despite the flimsy protest hurled against its manufacturer, Mattel.

The US$ 2 million deal also includes a patch for Daisy and Brownie members, making it the first-ever patch to have a corporate sponsorship.

Girl Scouts Want Barbie, So Deal With It

Barbie Girl Scout
When it rains, it surely will fall. And this is what happened to Mattel, the toy manufacturer known for producing America's top doll, Barbie.

In previous articles, we featured "head-scratching" efforts to change the body configuration of the famous doll to appease the senseless demand of some sectors for political correctness. A few weeks later, Mattel received several one-sided criticism for letting Barbie be featured in Sports Illustrated's annual swimsuit edition.

Hey, Leave Our Toys Alone!

Normal Barbie
I said it here before, now I want to say it again: "Leave Our Toys Alone!"

A few months ago, we wrote about the useless attempt of toymaker Mattel to shift their production strategy and produce a 'fat' Barbie. No sales figures were released, but it’s not hard to second-guess that sale figures for this 'triple-chin' model is dismal.

Who in their right mind would buy a plus-size Barbie and let their children play with it? And what kind of kid would prefer an unhealthy body over a notoriously skinny, but attractive doll? Mattel could be helping girls “see themselves in the dolls available in the market,” but it surely is one way to ensure that their company won’t generate enough profit from the product.

Plus-Size Barbie Creates a Stir

Barbie Plus-Size
Toys dominate the Holiday Season's shopping list. And when we talk about toys there are no other more dominating than the doll Barbie.

This is the reason why many consumers are wondering why toymaker Mattel had to resort to drastic shift in their production strategy by including a fat version of the doll in their marketing line. The controversy was further fueled when a simple Facebook post tries to imagines a plus-size version of the notoriously skinny doll.

Leave Our Toys Alone

Barbie Dolls
There was much talk recently about how the toy Barbie would look if it was made according to normal human proportions. Those radical feminists who want to take her out of the store shelf claimed a real live version would be curvier, shorter, and twice her size. Her breasts would be significantly less perky, her bottom would be heavier and her legs much shorter.

My question is, so what? This is a toy that kids want to play and they don’t give a hoot if Barbie has a grossly unrealistic body measurement of 36-18-33. Who cares if the real-live version would have problem walking and topple over because of her oversize boobs? Kids enjoy it as she is right now and many parents are not complaining even if Barbie is considered underweight in the real world.
