PHL Will Not Recognize Same-Sex Marriage

Supreme Court
I’m not sure what it is in public office that sometime affects rationale thinking and makes elected officials loose all forms of decency and morality, but in the Philippines, that’s usually the case.

Take for instance Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista who has asked his council to look into the possibility of allowing same-sex marriage in the city. They can approve and implement an Anti-Discrimination Ordinance which aims to provide equal rights to all members of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) community, but same-sex marriage?

Mayon Volcano
In a report from ANC, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) confirmed that lava flow was spotted at the Mayon Volcano in Albay on 12 October 2014, though there is no reason yet to raise the Alert Status to Level 4.

"If we look at the past eruptions of the Mayon Volcano, we can classify its phases to one, non-explosive, meaning there is only quiet effusion of lava from the summit, and second, explosive eruption," said Phivolcs director Renato Solidum on ANC.

The Need to Ban Child Marriage Practice

Stop Child Marriage
Why each and everyone should oppose the practice of child marriage in some parts of the world?

For one, child marriage violates girls’ basic human rights. For instance, when girls are forced to marry, they often drop out of school, and may face serious health complications and even death from early pregnancy and childbearing, and are at greater risk of HIV infection and intimate partner violence. Also, they are often isolated, with limited opportunity to engage socially and to participate in the economic development of their communities.

Pepsigla Strives to Help Filipino Children

Pepsigla
Only very few companies commit their vast resources for the betterment of child health and nutrition. Fortunately for the Philippines, one such company has never wavered in its fight to improve the nutritional status of Filipino children.

According to Pepsi-Cola Products Philippines, Inc. (PCPPI) President Furqan Ahmed Syed, the difference that proper nutrition makes in a young child is immeasurable. "Pepsigla is our way to help narrow the nutrition gap in our communities," he says of the launch of Pepsigla in three elementary schools in Muntinlupa City.
