A 'Rude Awakening' at GMA's Unang Hirit

Arnold Clavio
If you are already a veteran newscaster, does that give you that license to be rude to your guest?

It appears that GMA news anchor Arnold Clavio thinks that it is and that’s enough reason for him to become impolite while in the middle of the interview with Atty. Alfredo Villamor last 5 November 2013 during the morning show, Unang Hirit.

Social media and online forum were abuzz after netizens witnessed the phone patch interview with the lawyer handling the serious illegal detention case of Janet Lim Napoles. Napoles is also alleged as the brain behind the anomaly involving the Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) or the ‘pork barrel’ scam.

During the exchange, Clavio can be seen and heard throwing unnecessary comments towards Atty. Villamor such as,
"Pasira ka ng araw eh" (You are trying to ruin my day).

"Salamat ha, wala ho kaming nakuha sa inyo" (Thank you because we did not get anything relevant from you).
Personally, the research team of the show need to get their facts straight. Clavio keep on insisting on questions that refers to the PDAF case of Napoles when the lawyer clearly stated at the start of the interview that he has nothing to do with.

If the intention of the show and Mr. Clavio was to get the opinion or reaction of Napoles lawyer on the pork barrel scam, then they should have not called Atty. Villamor. In fact, they should have not called anybody from the legal profession because Napoles reportedly already sacked Atty. Lorna Kapunan, the lawyer more familiar with the ‘pork barrel’ scam.

Everyone if the social media circle feels for Atty. Villamor who gladly responded to their request for an interview regarding the case he is handling, but experienced the ‘rude awakening’ from a supposedly respectable network.

By the way, anybody know what happened to the case against Jose Carlos Rosales, who allegedly use a car that GMA sold to its sales director, Maria Teresa Paula Rosales?
