After The Huffington Post announced that it would no longer include Donald Trump in its political coverage and after the billionaire real estate mogul surge in several election surveys, the victim is now hitting back.
In a statement, Trump hit back hard, noting his leading numbers in recent polls, including "the unimportant Huffington Post poll," and his role in raising the issues of border security and immigration, "the terrible United States trade deals, strengthening our military, taking care of our great Vets and the repeal and replacement of Obamacare."
"The only clown show in this scenario is the Huffington Post pretending to be a legitimate news source,” the statement said. "Mr. Trump is not focused on being covered by a glorified blog. He is focused on Making America Great Again."
The statement added Trump "has never been a fan of Arianna Huffington or the money-losing Huffington Post."
Rich Noyes, research director at the conservative Media Research Center, tells Fox News the "high and mighty" news site's decision sidestepped voters altogether.
"It seems high and mighty of the Huffington Post to decide who is and who isn’t a real candidate when Donald Trump is leading in the Republican polls right now," Noyes tells Fox News.
"They wouldn’t have taken kindly if the rest of the media had treated Arianna Huffington’s run for governor of California as a sideshow. I would say it's up to the voters to decide who is a real candidate and who is not."
When the Huffington Post editors decided to move all coverage of Trump’s presidential campaign to their entertainment section, they hit an all-time low for naked biased journalism. Their 'news' platform no longer qualifies as source for responsible reporting, nor should it be considered anything but what it truly is — America’s new standard-bearer of yellow journalism and profoundly offensive blog content.
