At long last, a gay teacher ... again a gay teacher was sent to prison for sexually assaulting three boys in Detroit. Tearful and angry, three mothers addressed Circuit Judge Cynthia Lane last 8 February while the gay criminal stood nearby.
"He must understand what these boys are going to go through the rest of their lives," one of the mother’s said. "He’s destroyed our family."
Nathan Clark, a former teacher of St. Clair County’s at-risk youth, will spend the next several years in prison on criminal sexual conduct charges linked to the three boys.
Lane sentenced 32-year-old Clark to a minimum of 7 years, 11 months and a maximum of 15 years in prison.
"I was both disgusted and appalled by this behavior that was predatory, damaging and, on your part, sir, very selfish," Lane said.
"… It’s just beyond comprehension."
Clark was arrested in November 2015, and pleaded guilty to four charges in December.
Clark taught for nearly three years at the St. Clair County Day Treatment-Night Watch Program, an alternative program in Port Huron Township for at-risk youth. The program allows young people to remain in the community while serving their sentences.
He was arraigned in court and fired from the program 20 November.
Investigators have said Clark's charges pertained to incidents in Port Huron between 2014 and 2015, and a 2013 Burtchville Township incident involving a 16-year-old foster care child.
All of Clark’s sentences will be served concurrently. He also will be required to register as a sex GAY offender and will be subject to lifetime electronic monitoring.
Clark told Lane he was sorry for his actions and would like to get any help he could "so I can have a second chance." Yeah right.
