Someone Who Deserves Death

Child Welfare
Parents are supposed to love and take care of their children, whatever their economic condition in life is. There are no excuses. It is the appropriate and right thing to do.

However, this is not the case of the two children who were allegedly being beaten repeatedly by their very own father. The two victims aged 6 and 4 were shown in a video that was uploaded online being punched, slapped and kicked by a person who does not deserve an ounce of pity.

Pediatricians Doesn't Support Homo Parenting

Pediatricians
A couple of years ago, the American College of Pediatricians (ACP) took a bold step. This national medical association of licensed physicians and healthcare professionals spoke out—strongly— against the idea of homosexual parenting.

The concept they addressed concerned the argument that children reared by two individuals of the same sex are as well adjusted as children reared in families with a mother and a father.

Gay Cancer Doctor Abusing 18 Minor Boys

Gay Doctor
A gay children's doctor who was found out to be sexually abusing 18 boys afflicted with cancer has been sentenced to 22 years in prison. This is a very light penalty considering that Dr. Myles Bradbury carried out examinations on children "purely for his own sexual gratification" and with no medical justification.

According to the Cambridge Crown Court, the gay cancer specialist admitted 25 offences in September 2014 involving 18 boys aged 10 to 16 whom he had treated while working as a paediatric haematologist at Addenbrooke's Hospital in the city.

The Need to Ban Child Marriage Practice

Stop Child Marriage
Why each and everyone should oppose the practice of child marriage in some parts of the world?

For one, child marriage violates girls’ basic human rights. For instance, when girls are forced to marry, they often drop out of school, and may face serious health complications and even death from early pregnancy and childbearing, and are at greater risk of HIV infection and intimate partner violence. Also, they are often isolated, with limited opportunity to engage socially and to participate in the economic development of their communities.

Bullying at the TFVC Kindergarten School

TFVC Bullying
Another case of bullying in school was reported recently and it appears that, like before, the school is at a loss on what to do and, worse, has not done anything significant to address the issue.

The case stemmed from the complaint of the parents of a 5-year old girl who attended kindergarten classes at The Fisher Valley College (TFVC) in Barangay Hagonoy, Taguig City. The youngest of the two siblings was a consistent honor student, but was also haunted by the shadow of a bully classmate.

In this country, one of the most sensitive issues confronting the students in basic education is the incidents of bullying in schools. For instance, data from the Department of Education (DepEd) for SY 2012-2013 showed that about 80 percents of child abuse incidents are acts of bullying.

Bullying is so rampant that Education Secretary Bro. Armin A. Luistro, FSC, himself admitted, in one anti-bullying forum, that he was a victim of bullying.

'Sorry' Should Not Excuse Crimes Against Children

Child Abuse
Two cases of blatant child abuse happened last 29 July 2014. As if the two incidents are not serious enough, no charges or appropriate cases were taken by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) because most of the employees are allegedly enjoying their holiday.

Can anybody explain how an agency tasked to protect the most vulnerable sectors of society not designate personnel that could take action whenever it is called for?
