Fox News Hits Back at Pres. Obama

Megyn Kelly
After President Barack Obama's criticism of its role in the 2016 presidential campaign, Fox News is firing back and is not holding out on a chance to point out the obvious.

Numerous personalities from the network stepped up their challenge to Obama's claim that they played a significant role in the Democratic Party's relative failure to connect with white working-class voters during the presidential race, saying Democrats should instead look internally for answers.

The U.N. Receives a Dressing Down From Pres. Duterte

President Duterte
Last 17 August, Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte hit out at "stupid" United Nations' criticism of his controversial crime war that has claimed 1,000 lives, warning the global body not to interfere.

The political outsider, who swept to a landslide election victory in May largely on a pledge to kill tens of thousands of criminals, said he would continue his anti-drug crackdown despite mounting criticism, including from UN chief Ban Ki-moon.

Pres. Duterte Slams American Gay Ambassador

Duterte vs Goldberg
President Rodrigo Duterte has taken a swipe at United States Ambassador to the Philippines Philip Goldberg, calling the diplomat "bakla" during a speech before soldiers in Camp Lapu Lapu in Cebu City last 5 August.

"Kaya nga sabi ko nung si Kerry, kasama kami ni Secretary, si Delfin (Lorenzana), kausap namin si (U.S. Secretary of State John) Kerry. Okay naman siya kasi, nag-away kami ng ambassador niya (Philip Goldberg). 'Yung ambassador niyang bakla, p*****i**, buwisit ako diyan. Nakikisali doon sa election, giving [a] statement. You're not supposed to do that," Duterte said.

Mayor Duterte Blasted The "Hypocritical Catholic Church"

The Defiant Duterte
For centuries, the Catholic Church has wielded their powers unchecked in the Philippines. Their influence has grown through the years that they have the tenacity to meddle in public policy despite the separation of Church and State.

It is now time to curb that power and one man has stepped up willingly to take on the cudgels of responsibility: the presumptive Philippine president-elect Rodrigo Duterte.

Mayor Duterte Is Set To Become Philippines' Next President

Rodrigo Duterte
It will just be matter of time before former mayor Rodrigo Duterte is set to become the Philippines' next president as results from 9 May election poured in and a rival conceded defeat, confirmation the outsider's vow to crush crime had resonated with voters.

Early morning of 10 May, a rolling ballot count by an election commission-accredited watchdog showed Duterte had almost 39 percent of votes cast. He was more than 5 million votes ahead of his nearest rival with 90 percent of votes counted.

Coup Threaten Possible Rodrigo Duterte's Win

Duterte
Philippine politician Rodrigo Duterte may be enjoying a rollicking ride to presidential favoritism, but his popularity has triggered warnings of a coup should he win next week's election. His opponents are already branding him as a dictator in the making.

The Philippines has endured a tumultuous democracy since millions of people took to the streets to overthrow dictator Ferdinand Marcos in 1986, with a succession of leaders having to quell military unrest and one president ousted in another uprising.

Sen. Grace Poe Offers An Alternative to Traditional Politicians

Sen. Grace Poe
The wait is finally over and nobody who is following Philippine politics was really surprise when Senator Grace Poe declared her plan to join the presidential race in the 2016 elections.

The Opportunity for the President is There

President Aquino III
Whatever President Benigno Aquino III does from now on will be scrutinized, dissected and criticized by those who have grand political ambition in the 2016 national election. These ambitious politicians will use all the available options at their disposal to gain power by discrediting the present administration.

Unfortunately for them, most Filipinos are now much more aware of their political environment compared to the time when President Ferdinand Marcos was able to dupe everyone into accepting the false pretentions of Martial Law. They know that President Aquino did not pocket a single public fund to build ‘white elephant’ projects, throw lavish parties for Hollywood stars or enrich political cronies like the former dictator.

P-Noy Needs To Get Rid of Dead Weights

Sino?
The popularity of President Benigno Aquino III has remained stable based on recent surveys conducted by both the private and public research institutions. There are several instances where it tumbled a few percentage points, but other than that, the trust ratings can still be considered high relative to previous administrations.

Despite his popularity, President Aquino has one major stumbling block. This barrier remains a major factor why many critics are unperturbed in expressing their scorn and indignation at his policies. The people he appoints who are supposed to be "of unassailable integrity and good performance" are also the ones who is dragging down his leadership.

Statement of President Aquino on Typhoon Yolanda

Pres. Aquino
Last Friday, Typhoon Yolanda ravaged a large part of the Visayas region. It was one of the strongest typhoons in this country’s history, if not the world’s. We thank the experts from PAGASA, the Mines and Geosciences Bureau, Phivolcs, and DOST, who gathered together and gave us the right, detailed, information, which allowed our countrymen to prepare for the coming storm.

This was also the reason for the reports of low casualty counts from the other provinces that were also in the typhoon’s path, such as Oriental and Occidental Mindoro, Negros Occidental, Palawan, Aklan, and Romblon, where their local governments were able to prepare in advance.

The Genuine AFP Modernization Program

Augusta Falcon Combat Utility Helicopters
True to his word, President Benigno Aquino III has started to acquire modern equipment and vehicles for the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) modernization program.

"Mulat po tayong kailangan pang palakasin ang inyong hanay kaya naman makakaasa kayo sa tuloy tuloy na modernisasyon ng inyong hanay upang mapabuti pa ang inyong serbisyo publiko," Aquino said in his speech during the Philippine Air Force (PAF) ceremonies last January 2012.

Noynoy: Son of Democracy Heroes

Noynoy Rally
By Agence France-Presse, 2 May 2010

Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino has capitalised on the powerful legacy of his famous parents to stand on the brink of becoming the next Philippine president.

Balding, bespectacled and still a bachelor at the age of 50, Aquino's critics seek to portray him as an uncharismatic politician with few results to show for 11 years as a member of the national parliament.
