China Reclaiming in Disputed Shoal

Chinese Reclamation
Whatever happens from now on in the disputed reef located at West Philippine Seas is anybody’s guess. One thing is certain though China will not stop intimidating its neighbors and will always tempt them to make the first shot.

Recognizing its vast military advantage over the Philippines, China aggressively reclaimed part of the reef called Mabini by Manila and Chigua by Beijing. The Philippine government just released military surveillance photos showing how Beijing deliberately tried to violate regional agreement not to escalate territorial disputes.

BIR is Passing The Buck

BIR ITR Filing
I was one of those who got in line on 15 April 2014 at the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) District Office to beat the deadline for filing the Income Tax Returns (ITR).

I was one of those who witnessed how undermanned and overworked the people of the Bureau and I also witness how inefficient the system is adopted by the country's tax collection agency. The main reason why there is a need to file the ITR on the said date was to avoid paying the 25 percent surcharge of extra charge imposed by the government on those who filed late.

Rolito Go Was Almost Released

Rolito Go
I just read a report saying that the Muntinlupa court has ordered the release of convicted murderer Rolito Go. It was Superintendent Fajardo Lansangan of the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) maximum-security compound that confirmed he did received the court order from Judge Guerrero at 4:04 P.M. last 2 May 2014.

However, Go’s release was allegedly being held for further evaluation by the Department of Justice (DOJ). What is not clear is the reason behind the release.

It's Ironic, Militants Tells US Leave PHL Alone

US Deal With PHL
Fact: The United States is taking its role as the world’s primary military superpower seriously that they sometimes find themselves meddling in each country’s political and economic processes.

When US President Barrack Obama visited the Philippines to formalize the 10-year agreement that will give American warships, planes and troops greater access to bases in the archipelago, his brief stay was met a very small number of militant protests.

Decreased Working Hours Not For PHL

Working Time
If the French can do it, why can’t we? Most probably because some Filipino feels that to avoid becoming a slave to your work, then you should become a slave driver to your employees to stimulate growth.

When France approved the new labor agreement that deemed all work-related emails after 6:00 P.M. are unlawful, local labor groups thought of lobbying for the same measure in the Philippines as well. Unfortunately, this is not viable at this time.
