Movie actors are always asking their followers and fans to save the environment for whatever reason. However, a fleet of energy-guzzling luxury yachts and private planes, kilos of gourmet food dumped, limousines driving stars just a few hundred metres in the Cannes film festival shows that they are also hypocrites.

"There is, without a doubt, a huge amount that needs to be done by the festival organizers to make it more environmentally friendly," said Cyril Dion, a filmmaker and climate activist.

Gov. Kay Ivey last week approved the most stringent abortion law in the nation— making performing an abortion a felony in nearly all cases unless necessary for the mother's health.

A few people working for Amazon have written to the company's CEO, Jeff Bezos, to protest the sale of facial recognition tools and other technology to police departments and government agencies.

The workers cite the use of Amazon technology by the US Department of Homeland Security and the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency, which they criticized for enforcing Donald Trump's "zero tolerance" policy against illegal migrants and criminals.

FOX News reported Ainsley Earhardt reported that an ICE official in the United States testifying before a Senate panel corrected a Democrat's claims on the administration's immigration and border enforcement.

Last 1 August, Hawaii Sen. Mazie Hirono was questioning ICE Executive Associate Director for Enforcement and Removal Operations Matthew Albence about the immigration laws being prosecuted by the agency.
