Arsonist and Rapist Arrested

ABS-CBNews.com reported that a man was arrested for allegedly burning down a house, and raping an 11-year-old girl in Barangay Tagbalogo in Naawan, Misamis Oriental.

Two girls, an 11-year-old and a nine-year-old, were killed after they were trapped inside a burning house on 31 December 2015.

Filipino Soldier Discriminated in Kalibo

Can you be discriminated in your own country by foreigners? It appears that this can happen in the Philippines after First Lieutenant Ryan Layug, whose Facebook post about being denied entry to the Korean-run airport lounge located across Kalibo International Airport.

The incident happened last 1 January 2016 and the post went viral over the long weekend. Layug already filed a complaint with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).

Ombudsman Is Taking Down Corrupt Officials

After dismissing the police officers involved in the anomalous rubber boat deal last month, the Office of the Ombudsman is again showing everyone that nobody is above the law after it dismissed three Mindanao mayors and told them that they are no longer allowed to hold public office.

Dismissed from service were Cagayan de Oro (CDO) City Mayor Oscar Moreno, Matanao, Davao del Sur Mayor Vicente Fernandez, and Ditsa-an Ramain, Lanao del Sur Mayor Mamintal Adiong.

Same Sex Marriage Rejected in Slovenia

As more and more people realize the threat and health risk posed by gays, countries all over the world have started to enact laws that prevent gays from corrupting young minds. The latest move came from Slovenia, when the overwhelming majority rejected same-sex marriage by a large margin in a referendum last 20 December.

According to near-complete results, this is a complete victory for the conservatives backed by the Catholic Church in the ex-communist EU nation who are fighting attempts by homofascism to penetrate and disrespect their culture and beliefs..
