Girl Scouts Should Expect A Dip In Funding

The Archdiocese of St. Louis in the U.S. has encouraged Roman Catholics to scale back ties with the Girl Scouts, advising church members to think twice about membership and even about buying their cookies.

The warnings came in a letter from Archbishop Robert J. Carlson and in a statement on the archdiocese’s website about how the church is distancing itself from the Girl Scouts, which it says supports transgender rights, homosexuality and other stances at odds with Catholic values.

ISIS has claimed responsibility for the attacks, according to the Amaq Agency which is known to be affiliated with the terrorist group.

Fries are a national symbol in Belgium, which is likely why the Burger King ad has resurfaced and gained traction online since the attacks.

'Stand Your Ground' Laws Shoud Be Strengthened

Several states in the U.S. have adopted some form of Stand Your Ground law, according to the American Bar Association. Ten states have introduced bills to repeal or scale back their Stand Your Ground laws this year, and 13 states have pending legislation to strengthen or enact such laws.

Florida was the first state to enact such legislation, in 2005, under then Gov. Jeb Bush, who is currently a Republican presidential candidate. Florida essentially immunizes a person from criminal prosecution or civil action, provided he proves the use of force was necessary to prevent death or serious harm.

The Queen of England Doesn't Like Same-Sex Marriage

It would draw hundreds of people to a campus rally against racism; an emotional response from the university’s president; and even the attention of Hillary Clinton, who condemned the attack on Twitter.
