WANTED: Kristoffer Von Moraleja

WANTED: Kristoffer Von Moraleja
Reports say the quarrel was over jealousy. As the fight heated up, it put Moraleja over the edge and he stabbed his girlfriend 10 times. She died at the Pasay City General Hospital.

Police are looking at jealousy as a possible motive for the killing of a 21-year-old graduating tourism student on January 2011 in Pasay City. Mizziele Jamyka Gutierrez, a student of St. Paul University Manila, was allegedly stabbed and killed by her boyfriend Kristoffer Von Moraleja, 19, inside the latter's house on Sarrial Street, Decena.

The victim was declared dead on arrival at the Pasay City General Hospital due to multiple stab wounds. Case investigator PO2 Giovanni Arcinue said the victim sustained at least 10 stab wounds.

She was reportedly at her boyfriend's house to work on her thesis, police said. Initial investigation showed that Moraleja's younger brother rushed to the barangay hall where his father, who works as the barangay executive officer, was having a meeting and told them that his brother had stabbed the victim during a heated argument.

Moraleja fled while the victim was being taken to the hospital. The authorities has already launched a manhunt operation for Von.

"Tumawag sa'kin [ang tatay ni Von] after three days at sinasabi niya nga na isusuko niya 'yung anak niya," PO2 Giovanni Arcinue of the Pasay PNP says. "Hanggang sa ngayon, wala namang Von Moraleja na lumulutang."

Kristoffer Von Moraleja was immediately charged with murder at the Pasay City Prosecutor's office. After three months, a warrant of arrest was also issued.

Myka's family and friends helped with the manhunt by starting an online campaign and spreading photos of Von.

"Sa Facebook, naglagay kami ng 'Justice for Myka'. So nababasa namin 'yung suporta ng tao kaya naman 'yun ang nagpapaluwag sa aming pamilya na kahit hindi naming kakilala, thousands of people, naglalagay sila ng message concerning Myka," the victim's moms says.
