Gays Defy BSA's Orders

Gays Defy BSA
Miranda Leitsinger of NBC News reported that "Boy Scouts and adult volunteers wore their uniforms Sunday as they marched in Utah's gay pride parade — defying a leader of the youth organization who had said they couldn't do so under the organization's guidelines prohibiting advocating political or social positions."

The report displays the brazen hunger of some groups to take what they can after receiving some good graces. This is a literal application of the saying "you offer your hand and they want the whole arm."

The Country's National 'Playboy'?

Jose Rizal
National hero Jose Rizal may have been born 152 years ago, but his legacy as a womanizer never ceases to amaze netizens here and abroad. Many considered Rizal the Country’ National Playboy, while others believed he won't be able to secure an elective position given the number of dalliance he had.

Rizal was only 16, a fresh graduate from Ateneo de Manila, when he met his apple in the eye, Segunda Katigbak. The two exchanged letters, and Rizal would often visit La Concordia College to see Segunda as well as two of his sisters. When she turned 16, however, Segunda was married to her town mate Manuel Luz.

"I'm Rich and You Know It"

Forbes' Billionaires
Some people will say, "If you have it, flaunt it." However, there’s nothing in those words that say you have to bitch about it.

In the case of Saudi billionaire Prince Alwaleed bin Talal, it seems that he is not contented to let everyone know that he is filthy rich. He also wants everyone to know that he is far "richer than what you think."

Possible Alternatives to the BSA

Alternative to the BSA
A few days ago, the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) lifted a ban on openly gay youth, a change that will begin January 2014. A ban on gay Scout leaders remains in place.

Don't get me wrong on this. I don't have anything against the move by more than 61 percent of the Boy Scouts national council to approve a resolution overturning the longstanding ban at its annual meeting in Texas nor I am trying to "gain anything from someone else's misfortune". In fact, it could be the right move by the BSA in the right direction.

Not So Funny: Vice Ganda's Rape Joke

Vice Ganda's Rape Joke
Blame it on Vice Ganda. Because of “Showtime’s” host outburst during his recent concert, the entertainment industry will be taking about rape jokes for days now. Are they ever funny? Who can tell them? Who can’t? And if they aren’t funny, are you an awful person for laughing at them?

José Marie Borja-Vicera, the real name of Ganda, started one segment in his "I-Vice Ganda Mo 'Ko Concert last 17 May 2013 with a bad joke about GMA-7’s anchor Jessica Soho. He named Jessica as one of the famous personalities who would be preposterous in sexy roles.
