"Hijab" Has No Basis in Sharia

Department of Education (DepED) Armin Luistro recently asked female Muslim teachers not to wear their veils or "hijab" inside classrooms, in part to promote better relationships between teachers and pupils. They can still wear the veil outside class, but they are told to remove the veil during lessons so they can interact better with students.

However, the key arguments appear too shallow and very limited in scope all just for the purpose of lip recognition. The rationale should be more comprehensive and state that "face-coverings prevent the clear identification of a person, which is both a security risk, and a social hindrance within a society which relies on facial recognition and expression in communication."

Abusive Yellow Taxis of NAIA

I am posting here an email I received a couple of days ago about the new modus operandi of several dishonest yellow taxis serving the arriving passengers of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA). I am not sure if this actually happened or has a semblance of truth to it, but it may be worth noting that there are unscrupulous drivers who will try to dupe you into paying more for their service. It also helps to be more vigilant next time and to report any incidence of abuse to the proper authorities.

Leave Our Toys Alone

There was much talk recently about how the toy Barbie would look if it was made according to normal human proportions. Those radical feminists who want to take her out of the store shelf claimed a real live version would be curvier, shorter, and twice her size. Her breasts would be significantly less perky, her bottom would be heavier and her legs much shorter.

My question is, so what? This is a toy that kids want to play and they don’t give a hoot if Barbie has a grossly unrealistic body measurement of 36-18-33. Who cares if the real-live version would have problem walking and topple over because of her oversize boobs? Kids enjoy it as she is right now and many parents are not complaining even if Barbie is considered underweight in the real world.

Why is GMA7 Silent on this Attempted Rape Case?

Finally, the man suspected of abducting and attempting to rape a minor, 13-year-old-student of Ramon Magsaysay High School in Cubao, has been identified. Police has just filed cases against Jose Carlos Rosales in Quezon City after they tracked down the car he was using when he allegedly seized his teenage victim.

Quezon City Police District's (QCPD's) Kamuning Station said that the alleged victim was able o remember the license plate – ZRD-461 – of the red Honda Jazz once registered to GMA7 network driven by the man last 1 July 2013.

AIDS Rate Higher Among Homosexual Men

In 2009, LifeSiteNews.com reported that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimates AIDS as fifty times more prevalent among men who have sex with men ('MSM') than the rest of the population in the United States. Dr. Amy Lansky revealed this statistic during a plenary session at the 2009 HIV Prevention Conference in Atlanta.

The CDC had already revealed last year that approximately 53 percent of the estimated 56,300 new HIV cases in 2006 were in homosexual men, with the African American population being particularly affected.

Gays Defy BSA's Orders

Miranda Leitsinger of NBC News reported that "Boy Scouts and adult volunteers wore their uniforms Sunday as they marched in Utah's gay pride parade — defying a leader of the youth organization who had said they couldn't do so under the organization's guidelines prohibiting advocating political or social positions."

The report displays the brazen hunger of some groups to take what they can after receiving some good graces. This is a literal application of the saying "you offer your hand and they want the whole arm."
