Best Practices in Preventing Human Trafficking

Human Trafficking
According to humantrafficking.org, poverty and lack of economic opportunity make women and children potential victims of traffickers associated with international criminal organizations. They are vulnerable to false promises of job opportunities in other countries. Many of those who accept these offers from what appear to be legitimate sources find themselves in situations where their documents are destroyed, their selves or their families threatened with harm, or they are bonded by a debt that they have no chance of repaying.

While women and children are particularly vulnerable to trafficking for the sex trade, human trafficking is not limited to sexual exploitation. It also includes persons who are trafficked into 'forced' marriages or into bonded labor markets, such as sweat shops, agricultural plantations, or domestic service.

Nigeria Lauded for Anti-Gay Law

Nigeria's Anti-Gay Law
Countries in Africa did not try to impose their standards on other countries neither did they compel other countries to adopt their peculiar customs. They choose to live according to what most of them think conforms to their ideals, morals and cultural beliefs as regulated by their laws.

Hence, it would be too colonial to say that laws in Africa are wrong. Just because they don't give in to what minorities are demanding in other countries does not justify ostracizing their leaders.

The governor’s lawyer tried to defend his statements, but ended up making it more difficult not to believe that it was really the Tallado who was in that picture.

After Anti-Gay Constitution, Zimbabwe's HDI Increased

Zimbabwe
If international reports and assessments are to be believed, the levels in human development are actually rising, according to the latest Human Development Index (HDI). These results were included in the 2014 Human Development Report entitled, “Sustaining Human Progress: Reducing Vulnerabilities and Building Resilience.”

Published by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the report added that the lower human development groups appear to be improving at a higher rate – grounds for optimism that the gap between higher and lower human development groups is narrowing.
