One of the most asked question after the horrific mass shooting at Pulse, a gay nightclub in downtown Orlando, is this: Is Omar Mateen, the gunman who proclaimed allegiance with ISIS before taking his own life, GAY?
There is no definite answer ... yet, but the testimonies and evidences gathered from various sources indicate that a GAY terror suspect was responsible for killing 49 GAYS.
This add another layer of complexity, but it is important because several gay activist are blaming gun control laws, pending bills that seek to promote gay lifestyle and 'homophobia' as contributory factors that led to the tragedy. Unfortunately for them, it appears that one of their kind realized the error in their ways and decided to be the judge, jury and executioner himself.
Several people who had known Mateen — a classmate of his, a drag queen who'd befriended him, a man who met him online, even regulars at Pulse — told multiple media outlets that the 29-year-old, divorced man had used gay dating apps, frequented gay clubs by himself, and may have once asked a man out.
At least four regular customers told the Orlando Sentinel that they had seen Mateen at Pulse before, with one saying that he was often alone. "Sometimes he would go over in the corner and sit and drink by himself, and other times he would get so drunk he was loud and belligerent," said Ty Smith, adding that Mateen once told him that he had a wife and child.
Another Pulse regular, Kevin West, said that he’d run into Mateen on the gay dating app Jack'd, where they sporadically chatted for nearly a year, but never met in person until early Sunday (12 June) morning, when West saw Mateen outside of the nightclub prior to the shooting. In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, West said that he had gone to the police immediately after seeing photos of Mateen. "I said, 'That’s him,'" West recounted, and immediately turned his phone over to the F.B.I.
The Palm Beach Post published an interview with a former classmate from Mateen's time at the Indian River State College police-academy program, who said that Mateen had asked him out once in what the classmate believed was a romantic context. "We went to a few gay bars with him, and I was not out at the time, so I declined his offer," said the anonymous classmate, who said he thought Mateen was closeted.
