US Renewed Commitment to PHL

The United States has renewed its commitment to support the Philippines by agreeing to a 10-year agreement that will give American warships, planes and troops greater access to bases in the archipelago.

The deal, which was welcomed by majority of Filipinos, was the centerpiece when President Barrack Obama visited the Philippines on 28 April 2014 The agreement will also mark the return of a sizeable American military presence in the country for the first time since the American military gave up its sprawling naval and air bases, including one at Subic Bay, in 1992.

Kidnappers Killed Their 2-Year Old Victim

No words can described the gruesome ordeal that a 2-year old boy suffered before he died in the hands of his kidnappers. However, only one penalty can give him justice: DEATH TO THOSE WHO ARE GUILTY OF THE CRIME.

Police believed that 2-year-old Ekam Belera Singh was dragged into a musky cellar in Calamba City, Laguna. Next, the suspects squeezed the terrified boy’s cheeks forcing his mouth wide open. Then the kidnappers stuffed sweat-soaked cloth down his throat. After that, the victim was tied up by his abductors as if he were some vicious criminal.

Empty Threats from a Skirmisher of P-Noy's Convoy?

The motoring scene is all abuzz again, no thanks to a news report from Lynda Jumilla of ABS-CBNNEWS.com about an alleged ‘half-craze’ driver who tried successfully to weave in and out the convoy of President Benigno Aquino III.

The highest official of the land was heading for Manila after inspecting the international airport terminals when the incident happened.

Leaders and Artists Mourn the Death of Gabriel Garcia Marquez

Colombian author, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, is famous for his beguiling stories of love and longing. He brought Latin America to life for millions of readers and put magical realism on the literary map. He died on Maudy Thursday (17 April 2014). He was 87.

A prolific writer who started out as a newspaper reporter, Garcia Marquez's masterpiece was "One Hundred Years of Solitude," a dream-like, dynastic epic that helped him win the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1982.

Women Who Changed The World, Part 2

The 2014 Women's Month Celebration is the best time to highlight the "drivers of change" who untiringly volunteered themselves in times of disaster, conflict and calamity. This celebration recognizes the role of women in the rehabilitation process and their over-all contributions to progress.

We started to feature those amazing women through out history in our last post. However, since there are just a very limited space to name a few of those women, we have to pause for awhile and reflect on the great deeds that they have done for us.
